Edinburgh Photography Tour Reviews
Discover a different side of Edinburgh
David is such a genuine guy and so passionate about photography and the city of Edinburgh, that it's impossible not to have a fantastic time with him! His knowledge of the city is second to none and he showed us all the nooks and crannies and his favourite picture spots. Our tour was a very well balanced mix of background information, fun facts, photography chat and laughter! While my partner is a hobby photographer in the first steps of going freelance, I merely joined the tour with my mobile phone camera and curiosity. David did amazingly well at accommodating both our interests and giving us useful advice. We definitely felt like we were in the best hands and can't wait to spend more time with David during our next visit!
Amazing tour - exceeded my expectations!
This is my first tripadvisor recommendation ever. For two reasons: either a tour was not worth the recommendation or already had plenty of - but not Davids (and that´s such a pity). The tour I had with him was outstanding (I can not imagine, any other vendor that provides you such a personal tailor-made tour). He showed me places I would have never discovered with a guidebook, but also visited some of the tourist hotspots. David is such a passionate photographer, you really feel he loves his work and the tours. With less effort (e.g. only changing the angle a little) the pictures I shot with David improved a lot compared to those I have taken. They are the favorite ones of my scotland holiday - I can´t wait to show them to my friends and family. To put it in a nutshell: The tour was absolutely worth it!
An excellent introduction to Edinburgh
I cannot recommend David highly enough. His passion and enthusiasm for his home becomes apparent as soon as you meet him. He guided me through so many beautiful and historic places that I felt truly privileged to be a visitor. He also gave me many recommendations of more parts to explore upon my return. This tour was perfect for my requirements - I booked quality time with a knowledgable photographic guide to enable me to create memorable images of my brief evening in the City. Thank you David!
Authentic Scottish hospitality!
David has many interests and a broad knowledge of Edinburgh and the surrounding area, as well as his talents as a photographer and tour guide. Warm and welcoming, he knows how to share his city with you. I recommend him unreservedly. I booked a tour and it was a super discovery so I will book again. Go for it, learn to appreciate Edinburgh with Tours of Edinburgh.
Such great knowledge of the city
David’s photography tour of Edinburgh was fantastic. Such great knowledge of the city, we got to see many hidden gems. David’s passion and enthusiasm for his work was infectious! I’ve certainly learned so much more than I thought about my camera and photo composition. Can’t wait to sharpen my new found skills. Thanks David.

Getting to know the real Edinburgh!
Loved this tour! David is a wealth of information about photography, the city and its historical roots. I gained great comfort with my camera as well as capturing some lovely pictures of this city. Even came away with ideas for my next excursion in Edinburgh. Thanks David for a wonderful experience!
Excellent photography tour and tuition
I was given an old SLR this year by a friend who never used it. I found myself confused about how to get the right exposure using manual mode. I took the tour with David and he really helped me understand the camera and techniques for shooting subjects in low-light and back-light. David is a thoroughly knowledgeable photographer. His enthusiasm is fantastic. He is approachable and friendly and very eager to impart his love of photography. Give me a few months with my camera and I will go back and do the tour again! Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about using an SLR and certainly for anyone who wants to photograph the best sites in Edinburgh.
Lots of incredibly helpful tips on how to take great photos
Almost all tours in Edinburgh are about sightseeing and the City’s amazing architecture. But they are definitely not about taking good photos. What makes this Edinburgh tour unique is that it is all about helping us take great photos. This is David’s niche. Highly recommended.

Amazing afternoon, highly recommend!
David is an incredibly interesting and passionate gentleman who clearly loves Edinburgh and Photography. I learned the fundamentals of using my camera and enjoyed a lovely afternoon discussing the philosophy of life, interspersed with detailed chats about photography. I plan on touring Edinburgh again with David and would recommend him highly to everyone.
A great day out
Thank you for the tour last Saturday. It was a great day out and interesting to have a photographer's view on local sites. Your knowledge of Edinburgh is amazing and adds that little bit extra to the tour. Thanks for the guides. I hope to go out this weekend to practice what I've learned. Many thanks.
